Hello DeviantArt populace,

I made this account so that I could share my photos with the world. Each of my photos has a story. Some are from professional experiences, some are captured with love, others were frozen for educational purposes, some are complete accidents, but all are a piece of my world.

Some are better than others. I know. I have never taken a photography class and probably never will so I'm sure there are some artistic bits that my photos are missing.

I think it's important for me to note that all those blue butterflies are Karner Blue's. They are an endangered species from the Great Lakes region of North America. This species is dependant on heavy snowfall in the winter and the availability of wild lupine (the caterpillar's only food source) and other nectaring plants during the two flights each year. In the summer of 2006 I joined a research team and was given the unique opportunity to immerse myself in these little beauties lives. Needless to say.. my camera came along for the ride!

I'm also sad to report that the outlook for this tiny gem is bleak. If you get the opportunity to support these little creatures in some way, please do! If you live in the Great Lakes region please set aside some small portion of your lawn and plant lupine there. Maybe some Karners will move in.
